 Future Events

 The Book Cafe

 Barton Library welcomes all avid readers to the new BOOK CAFE. This is not your regular reading group but a great chance to meet other readers for a friendly informal chat about books over coffee or a nice cup of tea. Pick up new books, new authors or new topics that you haven’t read before !! Get the fun back into reading. Free entry, free refreshments, free books to borrow. The next Book Cafe will take place on Wednesday 21st November 2012 from 10.00 am – 12 noon.

This month we will be looking at gripping adventure thrillers, those books you can’t put down !



 New to Barton Library – Cr’afterschool. A FREE family craft session that is FUN for all the family after school including patchwork, crochet, embroidery and sewing ! Plus much more! A great activity for after school. All abilities welcome! Table games to keep everyone occupied & refreshments available. Cr’afterschool is held on a Thursday from 3.30 pm to 5pm at Barton Library.


Barton Craft Fair

 Barton Library will be packed full of gorgeous crafts & gifts created by local artists not found in the high street ! Including Stich Galore, Rag Rugs, In-a-Jam Preserves, The Duchess Bakery & so much more! Why not come along and get your Christmas shopping done early! Free ENTRY – Children’s activities & Refreshments throughout the day. Saturday 10th November 10.00 am-3.00 pm at Barton Library !!


 Regular Events


Barton Library Art Circle

 Every MONDAY during term time only, Barton library welcomes artist to join the Barton Library Art Circle. A relaxed atmosphere where you can come and paint, including watercolours and acrylics. Free event, no need to book – just come along. Monday’s 10.00 am – 12 noon. New members welcome!


 Family History Group

 Enjoy researching your family history or would like to meet like-minded people in a friendly atmosphere

for help and tips about genealogy then come along to our Family History Group. Free access to, where you can look at census records and birth, marriages and deaths. The Family History Group meet every WEDNESDAY during term time, from 2.00 pm.


 Play & Stay

 This regular event is aimed at pre-school children and their carers. Come and join us for rhymes, stories and crafts for under 5s. A free event, but booking is essential so please contact Barton Library for details. The group is held every 2nd WEDNESDAY in the month 10.15 – 11. 45 am.


 Knit & Knatter

A fun, free regular event held at Barton Library for those who love to knit and knatter at the same time. All abilities welcome, relaxed atmosphere with refreshments available. No need to book, just come along the group is held every Thursday 10.00 am – 12.30 noon.



 A free family craft session that is for all the family to enjoy. A chance to learn traditional needlework and crafting skills with like-minded people a fun and friendly atmosphere where books and computers are readily available along with refreshments, disabled facilities and free parking! From Patchwork to crochet, embroidery, knitting and sewing ! All abilities welcome! Every Thursday 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm


 Crafts Unlimited

 A free event that involves unlimited craft from needlecraft, crochet, card making and scrap-booking. A relaxed setting, with refreshments, like-minded people and a chance to share tips and ideas. Every Friday 10.00 am to 12.30 noon . All abilities welcome.


 Saturday Coffee Morning

Every Saturday morning between 10.00 am to 12 noon Barton Library holds a Coffee Morning. Drop in for a coffee whilst choosing your books or just pop in and have a chat with your friends. Families welcome and refreshments available!
