The Mellow Dramatics are pleased to announce their next production: ‘Annie’ which is coming to Burton on Trent in September 2012. The original Broadway production opened in 1977 and ran for almost six years.

The show is staged in the depths of the 1930’s; where we meet Annie who is a outspoken young orphan girl who lives in an orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan who the children despise. Her hopeless situation changes for the better when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy, ‘Daddy’ Warbucks. Her cheeky charm soon melts the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks cannot help but grow to love Annie. So much so that he decides to help Annie find her long lost parents by offering a reward, if they can come to him and prove their identity. However, Miss Hannigan, her crooked brother Rooster, and his floozy girlfriend Lily plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves which puts Annie in great danger….

Will Annie continue in ‘A Hard Knock Life’ or will ‘Tomorrow’ have its happily ever after?
