Thomas Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’

This was Hardy’s second last novel before he returned to solely writing poetry. Beautifully rendering the countryside he called Wessex, the story was prompted by the death of his beloved cousin Tryphena Sparks, and Tess the character Hardy most loved. The scandal surrounding its publication is as much a tragedy as the story of Tess herself.

ReBalanced

Rebalanced is a creative movement session aimed at people over 65 with mobility issues. It offers an enjoyable way to build upon strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination. These sessions are mainly seated and provide a safe, social and fun environment to build confidence and physical activity. We ask that all participants are self caring or bring along somebody to assist and join in the fun.

 

Streetdance

Learn the coolest dance styles to the hottest tracks, gain confidence, fitness and flexibility Classes are taught in a relaxed and fun environment and are a great way to get fit and make new friends. No experience necessary, join any time

 

BYD – Burton Youth Dance

The Brewhouse runs a dance development programme throughout the Borough giving opportunities to work with professional dance artists throughout the year. The Brewhouse is also home to Burton Youth Dance, BYD provides further training and performance opportunities to company members.
