Open Mic Night- with Sound Stage project

Back by popular demand, The ‘Soundstage Project’ is proud to announce another live music event. This is an open mic night for all musicians wanting to perform. Whatever your style, whatever your ability, if you want to perform live to an audience of passionate music fans, get involved. You just have to turn up and put your name down. But it’s first-come-first-served so get there early. ‘Soundstage Project’ is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers with the aim of nurturing local musical talent and creating a social network for musicians in Burton and surrounding areas. If you like the idea of a thriving music scene in your home town, get involved.


All England Theatre Festival Central Division of One Act Plays Quarter Final

See 6 winning plays from Stoke, South Staffordshire and Shropshire in 2 sessions. Plus entertaining adjudicators from Ben Humphrey GoDA. The 2 plays with the highest marks on the day will go forward to represent the Division at the area final in May 2015.


Jive Aces

Having become the first ever band to reach the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, the Jive Aces followed this up with a performance for HM The Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Empirical Evidence 12th March to 18th April 2015.

Over the past six months, Burton and South Derbyshire College students have been developing a body of work in response to the theme of Evidence, as a part of the Format International Photography Festival 2015. Their work will be exhibited at The Brewhouse Arts Centre and Cafe Bar as well as at venues in Derby.
This work has been produced by individuals from different creative pathways, resulting in an eclectic mix: fact and fiction, documentary and narrative, photography, fine art and film.


Format Festival 13th March – 12th April

FORMAT International Photography Festival presents a selection of the best of international photography in a diverse programme of exhibitions and events. FORMAT is curated by Louise Clements, Artistic Director of QUAD & FORMAT, hosted & organised by QUAD and the University of Derby. 13th March – 12th April 2015


THE BREWHOUSE OPEN 23rd April – 6th June

Organised by The Brewhouse and Burton and District Arts Council (BADAC).

The Annual Open Exhibition is an opportunity for all artists in the region to exhibit their work within our gallery setting. The exhibition showcases an interesting mix of styles, techniques and media ranging from traditional paintings to film.
