Burton Library April Events

Join us for our Spring Show on Saturday 21st April, where we’re hosting art and craft stalls for the East Staffs Borough Council event on the adjacent Washlands and market place. We’ll also have children’s activities and a free willow-weaving session. It runs from 11am-3pm.

Our World Book Night Quiz takes place on Monday 23rd April from 7pm – 9pm. Entry is £5 for a team of four people, and the winner takes the pot. There may even be one or two book-givers hanging about handing out free books. Booking is preferred.

The next Reading Café takes place on Tuesday 24th April from 10am – 12pm, where we’ll be using humour as our theme. Got a book to recommend? Or eager to hear someone else’s favourite? Come along for free books, free tea and coffee, and some great ideas about what to read next. There is also a new Reading Café open at Barton Library on Wednesday 18th April, 10am – 12pm.

For those who would like a free session on how to use computers, we’re holding a taster session for Spring Online week, on Friday 27th April, from 2:30-4:30pm. Phone or drop by the library to book a slot, as demand is always high.

Our Monday Writers’ Group meets in the library every Monday afternoon from 1:15 to 3:30, and welcome anyone over 19 writing in any genre. See their website at www.burtonmondaywriters.co.uk/index.php for more details.
