The Mellow Dramatics present HONK

Honk is based on the classic tale of ‘The Ugly Duckling’ telling the story of an odd looking duck called Ugly and the quest to find his mother.

Ida and Drake await the birth of their new brood, but this year the nest ha an unusual egg inside, sure enough it cracks open to reveal an ugly little chick who is nothing like his siblings. He even makes a strange honk noise instead of a quack.

Come and join the Mellows ruffling their feathers and see what adventures await Ugly in this colourful tale.

Jo Caulfield

Award winning comedian Jo Caulfield (Live at the Apollo) makes her first visit to Burton with a hilarious new show in which she examines why anger is always seen as such a bad thing. When life presents such irritations as vacuous celebrities, endless TV quiz shows, arrogant shop-assistants, emotionally ‘challenged’ men, drunken girlfriends who always pick the wrong partner, and a husband who continually quotes The Godfather, surely having a good rant – and a good laugh – is the only sensible reaction?

Kitten Pyramid Circus

The Brewhouse is delighted to be welcoming back the brilliant Kitten Pyramid, for their family-friendly ‘circus’. Then come back from 7pm onwards to experience all of the above, plus quirky comedy stand-up from Burton’s Tom Fermor and two sets from Kitten Pyramid in the Auditorium.

Locally grown, Kitten Pyramid have attracted lots of attention from the music media including The Guardian, The Independent, BBC Radio’s 6 Music, Q Magazine and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and have recently received rave reviews from Classic Rock Magazine (8/10) and Mojo (4/5) for their debut album ‘Uh-Oh!’ From quirky lyrics to folksy, beautiful harmonic sounds, all with a touch of Syd Barrett craziness, this is creative rock at its best!

Caroline Lowe: Seeing The Surface

Caroline’s paintings explore how we perceive ‘reality’. She explains; “I would like the viewer to question how reading the surface can distort the truth and therefore how much we really know about the world around us if we only judge it by its edited surface”.
