Emily Baker

Presented by mADhOUSE music

It was when Emily was awarded the Arts Foundation Fellowship in Songwriting by Annie Lennox, things began to slot into place. A critically acclaimed debut, House of Cards, soon followed, with Emily being described as an “intense songwriting talent” by Maverick Magazine. It’s with a battered old guitar in her hand, however, that she’s most enjoyable. Balancing honest, often heartbreaking, music with hilarious between-song banter, she’s gained a reputation as a truly unique live act. Little wonder Pete Doherty cited her as the person who inspired him to pick up the guitar.

The two were reunited in 2010, with Emily opening for Pete at the Bournemouth Opera House and Hackney Empire. If you like your music real and raw, you’ll be swept away by her latest album, All At Sea.
